The Joys Of Toys

Welcome to the Joys of Toys.

Did you know that vibrators have been in use since the 1800’s?  The first was invented by a British Physician, who, realising the connection between orgasms and de-creasing women’s stress levels (or Hysteria as it was then known!), felt he had to do something to help … now if only all men could figure that one out!  What a fantastic invention!

The benefits of women having orgasms have been well documented and according to the  ‘Journal of American Medical Association,’ orgasms are better for your health and wellbeing than you may have ever thought.

Just a few reasons why allowing yourself a little Fru Fru Time and investing in a quality stimulator or vibrator could be one of the best decisions you make!

  • Orgasms relieve tension! The faster heartbeat, the increased blood flow and the muscular tautness associated with sexual pleasure all come to a relaxing conclusion with an orgasm, and in the process relieve tensions pent up in your nervous system
  • Orgasms help you sleep better. While an orgasm is followed in the male by a quick drop in blood pressure and sudden relaxation, the effect on women is more progressive, but no less important. Orgasms act as a natural tranquilizer. That wonderful release of endorphins is very calming.
  • Orgasms calm your cravings for junk food, and sometimes for cigarettes. Sexual stimulation activates the production of phenetylamine, a kind of natural amphetamine that regulates your appetite. So before you head for the chips, maybe you should head for your room. :)
  • Orgasms burn calories. YIPPEE!
  • Orgasms can work as natural pain management. If you have ever noticed yourself forgetting about a headache or general aches and pains while having sex, it is not simply a psychological phenomenon. Endorphins (natural compounds that are close to morphine) are released by your body during sex, and can increase your tolerance of pain by as much as 70 percent during orgasm. This will vary from person to person.

What’s right for me?

If this is your first pleasure toy then it’s a good idea to start small. Firstly you should think about how ‘you’ best experience sexual pleasure: Clitoral, vaginal or anal.  It’s all about what makes ‘you’ happy. You should also think about where you are most likely to use your toy: Bath, shower or just pure bedroom play. A number of pleasure toys in our range are fully water proof making them perfect for those stolen moments relaxing alone in the bath or alternatively, spicing up your morning shower with your partner!

Clitoral Stimulators

Clitoral stimulators are extremely popular and for very good reason, put simply, they work and every girl should have at least one!

Many women have trouble reaching the big `O’ during sex and often this is due to the clitoris being under-stimulated during intercourse.  Clitoral Stimulators are a   great way of introducing pleasure toys into your bedroom play and allowing your partner to take control of the speed or pulse can be incredibly sexy for both parties. Stimulators have the added advantage of being quite small, small enough to fit in your handbag, meaning you can take your little `stress reliever ‘ with you wherever you go.

May we suggest:

Nea - Porcelain-like stimulator with a high sheen finish that feels exquisite to touch, while the rechargeable motor and five varied modes of stimulation deliver multiple possibilities - intended for using individually or with a partner, the a potential for play will never be the same again.

Alia - Alia is the latest stimulator in the Lelo range. An elegantly playful intimate massager with gorgeous simplicity that inspires a host of exciting possibilities. Entirely couple-friendly and a beautiful gift idea, her smooth outer shell glides over the skin, as near-silent vibrations draw from the powerful motor housed within. Siri – Siri is Lelos’ most powerful sensual massager to date that delivers a more intense pleasure. Skillfully honed for clitoral and all-over body stimulation, SIRI benefits from a strong motor, allowing her to deliver even more exciting and targeted vibes through her six varied stimulation modes. SIRI’s contoured shape directs vibrations strength through the quietest buzz, ensuring nothing comes between you and those soon to be discovered delights.

Vibrators and Dildos

Many women experience orgasm through clitoral and vaginal or ‘G Spot’ stimulation so you may like to look at a dildo (non vibrating) or a vibrator. As a starting point we would suggest the below. Once you get to know what you like about your vibrator and feel confident about using it you may want to move up to the larger styles.   If you go too large too soon you may find the size uncomfortable, or too intense so take your time and get to know what really works for you.

As a first vibrator or dildo may we suggest.

Mia – Vibrator MIA is the most desirable travel companion – stylish yet unassuming, Mia is ready to excite her owner at just a moment’s notice. The lightweight design and attractive ‘lipstick-like’ appearance mean this fashionable and discreet vibrator with four varied stimulations can be taken almost anywhere, and enjoyed at any you can also re-charge her via USB for added convenience. MIA is the perfect gift for individuals and couples who are new to the vibe, or those who revel in responding to that immediate impulse, whenever the moment feels right.

Ella – Dildo.  ELLA is a classically designed pleasure object – that arouses countless intimate possibilities. Smooth and seamless to the touch, her flowing body-safe silicone form is tailored for individuals and couples to explore their innermost fantasies. Presenting an attractive alternative to the vibe, ELLA’s two ends are precisely sculpted for the most enticing penetrative acts. Control is therefore always placed firmly in the hands of her user with ELLA offering as many sensations as the imagination allows.

Liv - Vibrator - LIV is a true icon of the LELO range - an elegant mid-size vibrator that delivers prolonged sensations through the most delicate and not-so delicate touch. Entirely couple friendly and beautifully tailored to the contours of the female form, she is fully rechargeable and boasts 5 stimulation modes, each individually responsive to her user’s desire.

Gi Gi  - Vibrator - GIGI is the ultimate connoisseur when it comes to pleasure, focusing on the source of some of the most satisfying sensations a woman can experience. Fully rechargeable and whisper-quiet with 5 adjustable stimulation modes, GIGI defines what it means to melt into ecstasy, where pleasure becomes impossible to describe.

What are Luna Beads?

Lelo’s famous Luna Pleasure Bead system is a combined pleasure and fitness system for the vaginal and pelvic floor muscles. Placed inside the vagina they provide stimulation as well as strengthening and firming your pelvic floor muscles. A little bit of exercise for the mind, body and soul!

What is a We -Vibe?

The We-Vibe is possibly the world’s most popular couples vibrator, which can also be used for solo play.  This small,  ‘C’ shaped, vibrating toy is designed so that one end sits inside your virgina, to stimulate your G-Spot, while the other end lays against your clitoris, offering you dual stimulation. The difference to other dual toys is that the We-Vibe is specifically designed to be used during intercourse meaning you and your partner can experience further erotic stimulation together.  Check out full details / video’s of this amazing couples vibe in the pleasure toy section.

Do I need to use lubricants with my toy?

YES YES YES.  We strongly advice the use of quality lubricants.

Lubricants can help to heighten your sexual pleasure even when not using a pleasure toy and should be looked at as an essential bedroom accessory. Try Booty Parlors `Add Magic ‘ or Lelos’ `Personal Moisturiser’, both are gorgeous silky smooth  & light lubricants that feel fantastic.  Lubricants are an essential item for achieving and heightening sexual pleasure and should not be under estimated. If you have never used a quality lubricant during lovemaking before all we can say is try it and you’ll see what we mean!  Madame Fru Fru sells water-based lubricants that can be used safely with all our pleasure toys.

Will my pleasure toy arrive ready for action?

All Lelo pleasure toys will need charging when you receive them. How long this takes is dependent on the style that you have purchased.  Once charged they will operate for approx. 4 hours and have a 90 day standby mode.   Our small, fun, stimulators like the ‘I Rub My Duckie’ and the ‘Booty Parlor Rabbit’ are battery operated.  Please note this is a guide only; please check with manufactures instructions before use and for more detailed information on charging your toy.

How do I clean my Pleasure Toy?

All toys should be thoroughly cleaned before / after use.

Begin by cleaning your toy with water and a gentle antibacterial soap. Rinse thoroughly; be careful not to get the controls or the charging areas of your toy overly wet when doing this.  Dry your toy with a lint-free cloth / towel or just leave to dry naturally which will avoid getting any small fibers on the outer surface. Once dry you should use an antibacterial spray on your toy.

Lelo’s new Antibacterial Cleaning Spray contains active anti-microbial ingredients proven to kill 99.9% of all germs, while the addition of zinc salts reduces any chance of irritation. Containing additional anti-viral and anti-fungal properties within a pH balanced formula; this easy-on spray is the safest and most effective choice for your entire toy cleaning needs.

Please note this is a guide only and check with manufactures instructions before use and for more detailed information on caring for your toy.

Are Pleasure Toys safe to use?

Yes, when used according to manufactures instruction and for the purpose they are intended. In terms of the materials that they are made from this will vary so you should always check before you buy and ensure that you are happy with the materials that are being used. All pleasure toys sold at Madame Fru Fru are 100% body safe. Lelo products are 100% quality assured and body safe. All products are non-toxic, phthalate-free, and comply with CE and RoHs standards. If you are in any doubt about using a vibrator due to health / medical issues you should consult your Doctor.

What is Phthalate?

Phthalates- ("thal-ates”) are chemicals used to soften hard plastics to make them more flexible.  Phthalates are often used in the making of sex toys as they soften the rubber and give the toy a soft cushioned feel.

The problem with phthalate is that there is growing concern regarding it’s safety with research suggesting that phthalate may have a toxic effect, presenting symptoms ranging from mild to serious.  At present there is not enough data to determine the safety of phthalate when used in sex toys, as very few studies exist, however, a growing number of organizations (with the exception of the chemical industry) do agree that phthalates pose some risk to health.  This is because Phthalate molecules are not chemically bound to the plastics they soften, meaning they can break away from plastic fairly easily, causing rubber and jelly toys to deteriorate over time.  Sex toys made without phthalate are generally better quality and as such slightly more expensive. With your utmost safety in mind all pleasure toys sold at Madame Fru Fru are phthalate free.

Is it safe to use a vibrator during pregnancy?

It is generally considered safe to use a vibrator during pregnancy. If your doctor has given you the green light for sexual intercourse, then it's generally accepted that you also have the OK to use a vibrator.  You should though always check with your Doctor if you have any medical concerns regarding using a pleasure toy.

Are vibrators safe to use for anal insertion

None of the vibrators that we currently sell at Madame Fru Fru were made specifically for anal use however many toys in our range can be used for gentle anal stimulation around the anal area. Most anal toys will have a wide base (to stop them getting lost!) and are commonly known as Anal Plugs or Anal Beads. Many women experience pleasure through anal stimulation however if you are new to this we would suggest that you start with a small and slim anal massager or have your partner massage this area for you using their finger in order for you to get use to this form of stimulation.  Lots of lubricant and slow and steady is the key to the pleasures of beginner’s derriere delights.
